Assessments:

 Parenting/Family Assessment:

 

  • Can address specific areas of concern, or be comprehensive.
  • Assessment of Knowledge, Skills, and Practice.
  • Directly observed parenting behaviour and parent interviews.
  • Interfaces well with the Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families (2000) and the Common Assessment Framework (DfES 2006).
  • Can be used to assess support requirements, parenting capacity, evaluation of education provided, or as part of Child Protection/Legal proceedings.

 Assessment of Sexual Attitudes, Knowledge & Behaviour:

The SKAAT-R is a comprehensive, well recognised and respected assessment tool.  Some of the areas in which it can be useful are:

  • Where there are concerns regarding inappropriate sexual behaviour.
  • Prior to Socio-Sexual education, to determine baseline knowledge.
  • To evaluate efficacy of the Socio-Sexual education provided to person.
  • It can form part of a wider assessment to determine capacity to consent to sexual relations.
  • An assessment of knowledge and attitudes can form part of legal process for sexual assault cases.
